Maggie's Quilt project

Well Maggie is not aware I am posting this but I wanted to show everyone how awesome her work is going. She is currently following a blog online with her sisters and in the process of making a quilt. She has had this sewing machine for a long time and now it finally is going to get some use. From the looks of it we are in for some real cool stuff. Our house at times looks like a sweat shop minus the small children slaving away, but if the work load piles up we have talked about getting a couple children in there to work long hours and for little pay. ha ha just kidding. let us know what you think of the Quilt...

Backpacking Pt Reyes

So a quick update on our backpacking trip to Pt Reyes. 12 miles round trip and we had a great time. We did it right with great food and beautiful scenery. The weather was awesome and would recommend everyone make a trip here once. It was very beautiful and awesome to visit. Lots of wildlife and the foliage was really cool too. Spring time so everything was in full bloom and active.

You might Remember

Hello Bauernfeind Family,

Some of you may remember a friend that Maggie and I made while fly out to Kentucky to ask George for permission for me to marry Maggie, Bridgette Nguyen. Bridgette and her boyfriend Michael attended our wedding and if you were lucky enough to get to speak with her you might have learned she is quite the proficient chef. She was on the food network a couple months back in a burger competition and places second there. Well she has been entering many cooking competitions since and recently won the national chicken cooking competition, which she won the grand prize of $50,000. She has really made a name for her self in Lexington and is now doing a daily show on LEX18 at 12:30pm show casing her talents and tasty recipes. I thought I would include a link to her site so you can all see what amazing work she does and help promote her tasty cooking. She is a very sweet and genuine person whom I am honored to have as a friend. Every time we are able, we meet up at a restaurant to share amazing food and catch up on life. We even spent time with them in Lexington at her home and she cooked an amazing dinner for us. She is open to ideas and will help with any cooking questions you may have. Visit her site and enjoy the cooking fun.

Michael's Sail Trip to British Virgin Islands 05/14/09-05/25/09

Michael dream is coming true in two weeks. Sailing paradise here I come. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to be sailing the Caribbean with.
Hello again! I am getting really excited about my trip coming up in less than two weeks. I am heading down to Puerto Rico and then to the British Virgin Islands on a 10 day sailing adventure. We have bare boat chartered a beautiful catamaran to sail around the islands with great friends and fun in the sun. We have 4 boats in the floatilla. Two of which are catamarans and two monohuls. On my catamaran we have 6 maybe 7 people and a total of about 20 people in the 4 boat flotilla. We will all fly from San Diego to Puerto Rico and then take a ferry to Tortola one of the main islands in the BVI's. We then will provision the boat and head out for a awesome adventure. Most everyone is experienced free divers, I am going to be learning from the others. I have now outfitted myself with new dive gear and have been learing all about what it takes to free dive.

I will update the blog once I return with video and photos of our trip. I look forward to sharing the adventure with everyone.

My Favorite Past Time!

Hello Polak family! Most of you haven't met Deanne yet. She is my +1 these days. We met in mid February and have managed to become quite fond of each other over the past couple months. I have been taking her out on the water and she seems to like it. As long as she doesn't start getting sea sick on me we will be just fine.

What another great day in San Diego! I can't seem to get away from spending every moment of free time on the water. I am so glad summer is almost here. I have managed to spend most weekends on the water. I am now teaching Deanne how to sail. She is a quick learner.

2nd Wedding Anniversairy

Well Jon and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary this weekend by going to a small town called Sutter Creek in Northern California. We stayed at a really nice bed and breakfast and went wine tasting. We hired a guy to drive us around in his 1937 La Salle Cadillac and take us to the wineries in Amador county. Really fun experience! There happened to be a Porsche club at one of the wineries, and Jon was in heaven.

On our way home, we went mining. We toured an old gold mine, and went 550 feet below ground. It was really neat to be underground and see the quartz and gold in the walls.

Welcome to the blog!

In an effort to stay connected while dispersed across California, I've started a blog. Please post and share whats going on in your lives. This will allow us to see the children grow as we can't be there for every opportunity and event in their lives. And of course, so we can see Cynthia and Uncle John's horses.

I encourage this space and opportunity to develop stronger relationships and closer bonds for all of us to share the good times and wonderful memories.
